According to U.S. Grocery Shopper Trends 2016, nine out of 10 shoppers say they trust their grocery stores to sell safe food. Maintaining a shopper’s trust continues to be on the forefront of retailers’ mind, which is why it’s important to have food safety resources available.

Maintaining a shopper’s trust continues to be on the forefront of retailers’ mind, which is why it’s important to have food safety resources available.</p> <p>In June 2016, FMI announced its <a href="http://www.fmi.org/news-room/news-archive/view/2016/06/20/fmi-and-prometric-partner-to-enhance-food-safety-certification-in-food-retail-stores">five-year partnership with Prometric</a>, a global leader in test development and delivery, to bring the Certified Food Protection Manager exam under the FMI SafeMark® program to FMI members and SafeMark® users. The SafeMark program is focused on training grocery managers, supervisors and front-line employees for the nationally accredited Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) exam. Beginning October 1, the SafeMark®, retail-specific CFPM exam will be available through Prometric in a variety of testing formats that will meet the needs of the retail food industry.</p> <p>SafeMark® and Prometric hosted an <a href="http://www.fmi.org/food-safety/food-safety-updates/webinar-recordings-public/2016/09/12/safemark-and-prometric-informational-webinar">Informational Webinar</a> on benefits the new partnership offers.
