We do this in the hope that the small encounters prove to be substantial connections.

During FMI Connect, we’ll host several Thought Leader education sessions that will include leading experts from inside and outside the industry addressing these near-universal issues. Here are some highlights of what these Thought Leader sessions will cover.
How Grocery Stores Can Help Prevent Food Fights at Home
We surveyed over 2,000 shoppers and conducted 10 ethnographic interviews. For three hours each, we asked – I could say grilled, but that would be a bad pun – two household members about their shopping, cooking and eating customs. During these interviews, it became clear to me that in many households there is something of a food fight going on. American families need help in candidly communicating with each other about their family’s food philosophy.
Private Brands Winner in Excellence in Exporting
The President’s “E” Award recognizes companies for “Excellence in Exporting.” During World War II 4,000 “E” Awards were awarded to war plants in recognition of production excellence. As a winner of the “E” award companies receive and were authorized to fly the white and blue “E” pennant which quickly became a badge of patriotism in action.
FDA Report Recognizes Food Industry’s Food Safety Efforts
FDA recently released the 5th Annual Report for the Reportable Food Registry (RFR) which includes the reporting period of September 8, 2013-September 7, 2014. In this report, FDA recognizes the work the food industry has done over the past five years to develop resources to address areas that may pose a public health risk.
